New Residency: Sundae @ Octo Waterfront Grille
Starting in May ‘09, Columbus Blvd. will welcome the deepest and most soulful house party in Philly to the waterfront as Sundae Philadelphia takes over at Octo. The Sundae Summer Edition has already scheduled an amazing line up of DJs including Jojo Flores, Hector Romero, Rich Medina, Davidson Ospina, King Britt, Lee Jones, Dirty and the one and only Questlove, taking over the helm for the Official Sundae Summer Launch Party! A new restaurant called Octo Waterfront Grille is planned for the former Rock Lobster site on the Delaware River in Philadelphia.
Octo, which promises a “tropical urban oasis,” will open Memorial Day weekend. It will be at 221 N. Columbus Blvd. (Delaware Avenue).

The restaurant, which needs 100 employees, will hold day-long jobs fairs at the Hyatt Penn’s Landing, on April 21-22. More information is at www.OCTOPhilly.com.
Octo Waterfront’s owner Clark Maloney has been involved in bars, night clubs and restaurants.
The restaurant, which is situated on a pier overlooking a marina, will be under a massive tent and feature sizable fish tanks featuring freshwater fish, lobster and octopus (the inspiration for the name Octo).
Rock Lobster, one of the waterfront’s first night spots when it emerged in the 1980s, closed in 2007.
